The main advantage of opting for Botoxand fillers is that they provide natural-looking results using a minimally invasive procedure. During an appointment that is typically 30 minutes or less, patients can receive a treatment that yields results lasting around 3 months for Botox and 6 months to 2 years for filler, depending on the area treated and product used.
The best way to determine if you are a candidate for Botox injections, is to schedule a consultation with one of our nurse injectors.
In order to treat fine lines on the face, this treatment involves injecting Botox into the dominant muscles that help form expressions, which relaxes them. Botox is a derivative of the Botulinum toxin and works as a neuromodulator, which blocks the normal flow of neurotransmission. Once injected, it prevents the muscles from contracting, smoothing out the facial lines and wrinkles. Botox helps soften severe facial expressions and creates a more youthful, refreshed look.
LEARN MORE ABOUT HOW BOTOX WORKS HEREThis depends on the treated area and how active the muscles are, but in general, the Botox injections will need to be repeated every 3-4 months. Fillers can last from 6 months to 2 years depending on the area treated and product used.
There is a mild discomfort when the needle is inserted. It feels like a small “pinch.”
Botox is proven to be very safe. Our nurse injectors are highly experienced with Botox injections so you can be assured that the injections will be done safely and will result in a significant cosmetic improvement.
Botox relaxes the muscles underneath the skin to create a smooth, rejuvenated appearance.
It can take up to 2 weeks to see the full effect.
Side effects are rare and are not permanent. There is rarely some minor bruising or a short-term headache. Most patients do not experience any side effects at all.
With some patients, the use of Botox to smooth out wrinkles is not enough. It needs to be combined with a soft tissue filler like Restylane, Perlane, Teosyal or Juvederm to produce the desired results. These fillers are used to fill in the gaps, groves and wrinkles that don’t respond to Botox. By injecting fillers into the patient’s problem areas, facial features are rejuvenated, creating a younger, fresher appearance. Skin tissue contains hyaluronic acid, which is the same substance that is injected into the skin to smooth out facial wrinkles and depressions. Our nurse injectors will devise a strategy for the appropriate injection sites on your face. The injection sites will be cleansed, and a topical anesthetic will be used to numb the area to be injected. Post-injection there will be some temporary swelling and minor discomfort, which can be treated with ice.
